The clown show that is the GOP trying to nominate a speaker is nearly three weeks old. Last week the dysfunction hit TPM as we had to repeatedly delay our flagship show, The Josh Marshall Podcast, because co-host Kate Riga was covering the madness at the scene of the crime, live from Capitol Hill. 

It was a reminder of a couple things. First, if Republican dysfunction is throwing off our business, imagine the effects it has on actually governing the country as House Republicans effectively grind legislating to a halt. Second, we at TPM really are able to do a ton with a small number of resources. Along with Riga, our newest member of the team, Emine Yücel has been reporting from the Hill as well, feeding our liveblogs with updates on all the messy, behind-the-scenes drama that seems like it belongs more on Bravo than the Beltway. But that is the GOP in 2023. And probably 2024 and so on and so forth.

We did get the podcast done though. JorDone, you might say as it documented the whimpering, pathetic finale of Jim Jordan's doomed attempt at the speakership. 
 

Meanwhile, in Georgia, the former vanguards of election denialism are transforming themselves into government collaborators. Jenna Ellis was the latest to accept a plea deal in the Georgia RICO case. She joined Kenneth Chesebro, Sydney "Kraken" Powell, and Georgia bail bondsman Scott Hall, who all previously accepted deals.
 

TPM's been all over the Georgia stuff since the very beginning. I mean, hell, we even have a tag on the website called "Kraken." We're all over the House speakership race. And while we have no reporters abroad, Josh Marshall is helping readers make sense of the situation in Gaza through curated lists of experts and sober analysis of publicly available information.
