Now, he’s right, but these kind of sentiments have never crawled out his mouth before, so it makes me suspect. Especially when he pretty much equated a loyalty oath to himself and loyalty to the United States….

Ana Navarro really ripped into Speaker Paul Ryan for not saying anything about the less than savory actions that Trump has pulled this week.

She says Ryan has to grow a spine and stop pretending to be in the Trump cult.

 Navarro might be exaggerating a little, but Trump really does seem to be getting worse. Remember how everyone praised him for the Gorsuch ceremony, which seemed to be run by Reince Priebus, and for this speech in front of a joint session of Congress. Now compare that to his actions this week – appearing to threaten Sally Yates and James Comey, and apparently summarily choosing to fire Comey without any preparation. Trump supporters are doing a disservice to his own agenda when they excuse these self-defeating choices.

This is really funny. Just a week ago, both Hannity and Newt were saying, “we told Trump to stop tweeting, and we were wrong, it’s great!”

It’s very hard to see anything other than that Trump is causing his own problems now. He gets into stupid ridiculous fights on Twitter, and gives the media more stuff to harp on. How bad can the polls get before they have to stop whining that they’re “fake polls”?

In the end, if Trump is proven right, and there was no information sharing or collusion between his campaign and Kremlin-allied entities, the president’s intemperate comments will not add up to much.
All this will have been is a sorry incident in which a frustrated commander in chief lashed out against his critics, making his reputation and his staff collateral damage in the process. Also harmed will have been Trump’s agenda and the already weak bonds of trust between him and his fellow Republicans in Congress.
And that’s the best case scenario.
The darker side of the street looks like this: Democrats retake the House in 2018, investigators find that one of Trump’s underlings had been in cahoots with Putinists and Trump’s remark to Lester Holt “when I decided to [fire Comey], I said to myself, you know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made up story,” would surely make it into the articles of impeachment.
This is deadly serious stuff. And many of the president’s supporters seem either unaware or unwilling to confront the situation as it exists. Just because one thinks that Democrats are hysterical in their responses to Trump does not mean that Trump is doing the right things.
His team had been, under the adverse conditions Trump created for them, working hard to offer the best rationale for firing Comey: That the former director’s mishandling of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s case left him unable to suitably lead the agency.

Krauthammero didn’t like the “self-inflicted and unnecessary” threat that Trump made to reveal private recordings of Comey. He said it was fit more from a mafia boss than a president.

You know who agrees with him? TRUMP. In the interview with Pirro, he just slams shut when she wants to know more about the recordings. Clearly, he figured out that the threat was not serving his interests and he didn’t want to dwell on it.

SO what’s the next thing on the list of stuff Trump is gonna do to remind everybody of Nixon?

Democrats are now beginning to call for the resignation of Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein because he won’t appoint a special prosecutor on the Russian investigation.

Democratic Sens. Dick Durbin and Dianne Feinstein are calling on Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to resign if no special prosecutor is named to replace ousted FBI Director James Comey in the investigation into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 US election.
“In an interview with NBC News, President (Donald) Trump admitted to firing FBI Director James Comey because of his investigation of the Trump campaign’s Russian connections,” Durbin, who is Senate Minority Whip, said in a statement. “That is dangerously close to obstruction of justice. This morning, the President tweeted a thinly veiled threat to Mr. Comey, which could be construed as threatening a witness in this investigation, which is another violation of federal law.”
Feinstein, a California Democrat, echoed the Illinois Senator.

That’s what the political landscape looks like to me. We’re not seeing Trump transform into Hitler, like some of the screaming idiots on the left are saying, but we ARE seeing what happens when a person of low character inhabits the most powerful office on Earth. He makes mistakes and doesn’t own up to them, and blames everyone but himself when it blows up in his face. Really this is a test of whether character matters at all. And it’s gonna get a lot worse before we figure it out….

Trump did an interview with Jeanine Pirro where she basically regurgitate his tweet from this morning in the form of a question, asking him if he moves too fast for his communications crew to keep up.

Trump said he does move too fast, that he’s moves in a FLASH…then he asked Pirro if she’d ever heard that before because he just made it up.

KIDDING!

No he said he does move too fast, and that maybe the solution is to do no more press conferences or maybe he should do them himself every two weeks.

But as Sooper suggested to me, Trump would never do that because it would allow the press to run with their own narrative for two weeks before he got a chance to correct it.
So make of it what you will.

2. He didn’t like that Comey wouldn’t aggressively investigate the leaks that have plagued his presidency.

But that’s not true. We all know that was the story coming out of the White House yesterday, that the Deputy AG had performed a review of Comey and then recommended his firing to Trump, and Trump accepted his recommendation.

She goes on and on about just how reputable and trusted Rosenstein is in her answer, but yet tries to tell us today that they never tried to pin it on him?
See this is exactly why I believe there is some credibility to the reporting that Rosenstein got upset yesterday, which forced the administration to correct the record at least partially.
After all that’s exactly what Trump was doing today with NBC News, now claiming that he was going to fire Comey regardless of the recommendation.
Sarah needs to up her game if she’s going to be press secretary, because the American people aren’t stupid. We can smell a lie from a mile away, just like cow manure on a warm spring day in Iowa.

OK so here’s the deal. You could plausibly believe that Comey wasn’t investigating the leaks enough, and that IS a reasonable basis to fire him. BUT, to fire him because he was investigating Trump too much does seem a little improper. IF the report is true.
Trump really excels at this kind of stuff – doing things that are technically legal, but completely upend tradition and past patterns and expectations.

Farage points out that in the first round of the election, 46% of people voted for parties that were fiercely Eurosceptic. In this round it was only 35% which means Le Pen failed to bring together the left and right under the Front Nationale brand.

He argues that 80% of the over-65s voted for Macron, which means generationally that the younger people are rejecting the EU model while the older people want to keep it.
Also he says when Le Pen finally gets rid of the baggage of her father she’ll be in a much stronger position.
Thus he predicts she’ll increase her lot from just 35% of people to enough to win in 2022.

Krauthammer slammed Obama for his “complete moral condescension” on Obamacare and its critics in a controlled tirade on Fox News today. It was a good one.

Ryan explains how it is that people are not denied coverage if they have a pre-existing condition. Stephanopoulos interrupts to exclaim that it may be true, but that just means they’ll be forced to spend more, and lose insurance when they can’t afford it.

A Brown County church vandalized with Donald Trump graffiti shortly after the 2016 election wasn’t targeted by pro-Trump political activists, but a member of their own congregation, according to police.
People suspected the KKK or some other hate group was responsible for the graffiti. The arrest of the church organist, was a surprise – and a relief.
The Brown County prosecuting attorney’s office issued a statement Wednesday saying they had charged 26-year-old George Nathaniel Stang of Bloomington with institutional criminal mischief, a misdemeanor. Stang was the man who originally claimed to have found the graffiti, and works as the organist at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Bean Blossom.

Detectives immediately suspected the crime was committed by someone familiar with the church. They said cell phone records put Stang in the area Saturday night.
According to court records, when confronted with the evidence, the 26-year-old gay man confessed.
Investigators say Stang admitted to painting the “Heil Trump” and “Fag Church” graffiti himself because he wanted to “mobilize a movement after being disappointed in and fearful of the outcome of the national election.” He insisted his actions were not motivated by anti-Christian or anti-gay sentiments.
Ron Smith, a Brown county resident, shook his head.
“Is there any rhyme or reason or sanity in any of this action?” Eyewitness News asked.
“I don’t think,” Smith said.

Carter Page brushed back the Senate intelligence committee in a letter Thursday, telling members that if they want details about his communications with Russians, they’ll need to ask former President Barack Obama.
The former foreign policy adviser for Donald Trump’s campaign, who is being scrutinized by both congressional and FBI investigators, berated the Senate intelligence committee’s requests in an April 28 letter provided to CNN for details about his communications and schedule a time to be interviewed by Senate investigators.
The Senate panel has also asked for records of former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and former Trump adviser Roger Stone as part of its probe. And the panel, sources said, is prepared to subpoena them for the records if necessary.

“I suspect the physical reaction of the Clinton/Obama regime perpetrators will be more along the lines of severe vomiting when all the facts are eventually exposed regarding the steps taken by the U.S. Government to influence the 2016 election,” Page wrote.

The New York Attorney General is all hot and bothered because he thinks it’s unconstitutional for the AHCA to stop funding Planned Parenthood. SO he’s going to sue if it passes the Senate.

Of course his claims are a lot of crap, but it depends on Roe vs. Wade being decided poorly in the first place. Bad law begets bad law. Based on it’s long precedent already in the law, this objection probably has a chance to stand in the Supreme Court. UNLESS some liberal justices kick off and Prezzy Trump is able to finagle another Gorsuch on SCOTUS. And THEN we’re talkin!!!
Also, is Schneiderman wearing eye liner or something?! Is he some kind of GOTH Attorney General, or hipster AG?! That won’t fly in my court, counselor….

Here we go again. Another Democrat is making explosive claims about the Trump campaign allegedly colluding with the Russian government. In this clip on CNN Brianna Keilar straight out asks Rep. Swalwell if there’s evidence for collusion, and he says YES in the classified information that he’s seen.

But notice, the only evidence he gives are two pretty dubious ones. Roger Stone is most assuredly a scumbag, but his interactions with Guccifer 2 prove very little. General Flynn’s resignation seems much more credible for shady stuff, but nothing has been proven yet. So it could just be another Democrat talking out of his Obama. Unless there actually IS something else in the classified evidence…

Krauthammer believes we are at the midpoint of a major health care overhaul, arguing that the expectations of the American people have changed given the last few years of Obamacare.
In short he predicts that in less than seven years America will be on a Single Payer system

I’m not sure how much the expectations of the American people have changed, but it is clear that Republicans are more moderate than ever and are completely unwilling to even repeal Obamacare. Just give them a few years and they’ll be arguing for the very single payer system that Krauthammer predicts.

The whole thing is insane when you think about it.

Also, some of you will mention how Trump just praised Australia’s single payer system as being better than ours. Well he stands by that, pointing out that he was referring to Obamacare:

Freedom Caucus Member Mark Sanford told CNN this morning that he attempted to read the 200-ish page bill, but admitted he glossed over some of the details:

Sanford says the amendments were the most important thing to him, so he read those in depth. But he also pointed out that he has a political staff that helps go through these bills, and between his and their readings of the bill combined, they had it covered.
