Today Sarah Huckabee Sanders told a reporter at the White House press briefing today that there was never an attempt to pin the decision to fire Comey on the Deputy AG:


But that’s not true. We all know that was the story coming out of the White House yesterday, that the Deputy AG had performed a review of Comey and then recommended his firing to Trump, and Trump accepted his recommendation.
Heck, even Sarah Huckabee Sanders herself was saying this on Morning Joe yesterday:



She goes on and on about just how reputable and trusted Rosenstein is in her answer, but yet tries to tell us today that they never tried to pin it on him?
See this is exactly why I believe there is some credibility to the reporting that Rosenstein got upset yesterday, which forced the administration to correct the record at least partially.
After all that’s exactly what Trump was doing today with NBC News, now claiming that he was going to fire Comey regardless of the recommendation.
Sarah needs to up her game if she’s going to be press secretary, because the American people aren’t stupid. We can smell a lie from a mile away, just like cow manure on a warm spring day in Iowa.
